If you happen to be in Medellin during one of your favorite sporting events and would still like to see it, the place to go is Champions. Owned and operated by an American Ex Pat from New York named Chris, it is a dual side by side Oeste restaurant and bar. In the bar, there are 16 20" televisions and two large screen overhead projection systems. For large events, like the BCS National Championship game or the Superbowl, he sets up another big screen projector on his large patio.
Chris pipes in most major sporting events including football, baseball, hockey, horse races, car racing, soccer (from all over the world), tennis, golf, rugby, boxing and just about any other sport you can think of, even a lot of Pay Per View programs. If you plan ahead and call him, he will find what you are looking for and make sure it is set up and working when you arrive.
You can also place bets through his online gaming terminal. He pays track odds without additional taxes or charges.
As Chris puts it, "the food is sometimes hit or miss but the beer is cold and most of my wait staff speaks English." (A few are pretty easy on the eyes too). His prices are reasonable and in line with other Medellin Restaurants.
