When you travel to Medellin, you are going to need a cell phone. It is almost a necessity. If your current cell phone is not a Tri or Quad Band, Unlocked GSM phone, we recommend you purchase one. The Motorola V 3 can be purchased for between $70 to $100 or less on E Bay. Any model GSM Tri Band or Quad Band, Unlocked phone will work.
Next, you will need to purchase a local Medellin Telephone number (SIM Chip) for your phone. You can do this in advance through Medellin Travel Guide and have a working number when you arrive or you can wait until you get here and purchase one locally.
You will also need to purchase prepaid minutes. MTG recommends ComCel as one of the best local providers. You may also purchase prepaid minutes cards through our special offer.
Note: Do not try to load your number or minutes until you arrive in Medellin.

Reminder: Do not try to load your number or minutes into your phone until you arrive in Medellin. You can do it while waiting in line at immigration/customs or while you are waiting for your luggage. Trust us, the ComCel towers in Medellin will not pick up your attempt to load service from Oshkosh!
