Instructions for loading Sim Cards and Prepaid Minutes into your
Medellin Cell Phone

Activating Your Comcel Service:
1.Be sure that battery is charged and your phone is in the off position
2.Insert the Colombia SIM card into your GSM cell phone (snap out your existing SIM chip from the SIM chip holder and insert the ComCel chip into your GSM Phone with the metal portion facing down as to make contact with the contact prongs. You will usually find your phone's SIM tray underneath the battery of your GSM cellphone).
3.Turn on your phone. Enter the PIN code provided in your packaging. MTG highly recommends that you disable the PIN check feature of your phone. Please consult your phone's user guide if unsure how to do this.
4.Check that phone powers on normally and that you can access menus. Do not attempt to make or receive a call.
5.Go to Colombia before using the phone to make phone calls
6.Purchase a scratch card and apply the credit to your prepaid account from your handset to activate your service.
Checking your account balance:
You can check your account balance by calling: *300 <SEND>.
Adding Call Credit:
In order to recharge your account, purchase a Prepaid ComCel Phone card (scratch card). These can be found at kiosks, gas stations, newspaper stands, office supply stores, supermarkets, or in the authorized dealer's stores. The cards come in $10,000, $20.000, $30.000, $50,000, $100.000 denominations.
To recharge your account: dial: *600. The automated system will ask you to put in the card code.
Customer Service - Problem Solving
For other questions relating to using your prepaid cellular service for Colombia, you will want to call Comcel customer service. Customer service for your Colombia prepaid SIM card is available 24 hr./day by dialing *611 from your Colombia cellular phone.
If you are not finding a network, make sure that your cell phone is set to the 850/1900 GSM band. (Some phones do not switch bands automatically.) Consult your phone's user guide if unsure how to do this.

Your Comcel Colombia minutes are valid for 3 months after activation.
