Like many large cities, Medellin has its fair share of banking institutions. Many have large ATM networks, small branch offices in malls and shopping centers, some offer money exchange services and few, if any, of the National banks will allow a foreigner to easily open a bank account.

Bancolombia has 714 branches and 2,223 automatic teller machines (ATMs) across
Colombia, for a countrywide footprint. As of November 2009, it accounted for
approximately 20% of total net loans and 19% of total net deposits within the
entire local banking system

There are also three Citibank branches. They have a convenient ATM machine at the Blockbuster Video Store just south of Oviedo Mall at the corner of Gonzales and Av. Poblado where you can get up to 2,000,000 pesos in 1 transaction.
